Rob Groves, President, Reveille Board of Directors
The Executive Director serves the Reveille board of directors and the board’s committees (in particular Development and Marketing) to support growth in the organization’s financial health and community impact.
The Executive Director works alongside the Artistic Director to represent the organization in public-facing capacities. The Executive Director works alongside the chorus manager to support the organization’s volunteer board by professionally executing essential tasks. In an organization with a rotating board of directors, the Executive Director also provides institutional knowledge and continuity for singers, volunteers, audience members, donors, and other funding organizations.
Salary: $15K-$20K for .25-.30 FTE
Working Arrangements: the ED position is ongoing, with a contract period of 12-months. Contract renewals will be dependent on an Annual Performance Review. The expected average workload is 10-15 hours per week. This position is primarily a remote position with flexible working location day to day but with required regular access to the Tucson and Southern Arizona region for meetings and events. Work-centered in the Tucson, Arizona, area.
The executive director is a multifaceted role, focused primarily on supporting the development and marketing efforts of Reveille. Their efforts include both behind-the-scenes and public-facing work, including acting as a spokesperson for the organization and cultivating relationships with donors and the community at large.
Development: (65%)
- Actively lead fundraising to create/refine/implement a comprehensive development program to maximize charitable contributions in consultation and cooperation with the Board.
- Lead the organization’s efforts at securing funding through:
- individual donor campaigns
- corporate and business sponsorships
- program ad sales
- grant writing and management
- Lead the board, chorus and staff in efforts to effectively nurture and grow relationships with donors.
Marketing and Communications: (30%)
- Lead efforts to cultivate relationships with community and regional arts organizations, the media, educational institutions, businesses, foundations, government agencies, and other stakeholders including nonprofit and corporate entities.
- Help implement all marketing and public relations activities for the organization.
- Communicate the work and mission of the organization to the public through all media, including both social media, and traditional media and venues in partnership with the Artistic Director, maintaining a consistent and positive voice.
- Increase brand awareness and impact of the organization by clearly articulating its mission, vision, programs and strategic direction to the public.
Other: (5%)
- Coordinate volunteers to ensure professional, welcoming, and successful presence at front-of-house for performances and other public-facing events.
- Take on other projects as time and capacity permit, to support the effective functioning of the board, its committees, and the organization as a whole.
- Driven, independent, and goal-oriented worker with the ability to set, pursue and reach goals with a can-do attitude.
- Experience with some or all of the following: sales, fundraising, sponsorships, grant writing.
- Exceptional organizational, project management, planning and negotiating skills, including the ability to juggle multiple long-term projects.
- Superior interpersonal skills and verbal and written presentation skills with the ability to interact productively with Board, staff, patrons, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and the community in a positive and cooperative manner.
- Personal values enthusiastically aligned with the values and mission of an LGBTQ+ arts organization dedicated to positively changing lives.
- Availability to work (some) evenings and weekends, especially the weekends of performances and/or outreaches.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Experience with non-profit and/or arts organization(s) in a professional, management, supervisorial, director, or administrative capacity.
- Background with and/or passion for music, performing arts, and/or theater
